Jorge Franco is not only the owner of the Hotel A Seleção, he is known throughout the country as the true "number one fan" of the National Team.
For decades he has followed Portugal everywhere. He has crossed countries and continents to be there: he traveled by motorhome to South Africa for the 2010 World Cup, cycled thousands of kilometers to Poland for Euro 2012, and has never missed a moment for the national team's big moments.
This passion has made him a recognized figure among fans, players, and the media. But, above all, it defines the way he lives, always on the move, always following the National Team.
The hotel in Setúbal had always been his. In 2016, Jorge decided to give it a new identity and transform it into a unique project: thus, Hotel A Seleção was born, inspired by a lifetime dedicated to football and unconditional support for the national team.
Each room pays homage to players from the National Team, reflecting stories, achievements, and emotions that Jorge has witnessed firsthand over the years.
But there is one symbol that sums it all up.
In front of the hotel stands his bus, converted into a campervan. More than just a vehicle, it's part of his history. It was with this bus that he traveled long distances to follow Portugal, carrying with him the flag, the passion, and the spirit of someone who never stays behind.
The bus catches the eye of passersby and sparks the curiosity of those arriving. It becomes impossible to ignore it, just as it's impossible to ignore the story of the person driving it.
